Before and After Marriage

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Before the marriage:

He: Yes. At last. It was so hard to wait.

She: Do you want me to leave?

He: NO! Don’t even think about it.

She: Do you love me?

He: Of course!

She: Have you ever cheated on me?

He: NO! Why you even asking?

She: Will you kiss me?

He: Yes!

She: Will you hit me?

He: No way! I’m not such kind of person!

She: Can I trust you?

Now after the marriage you can read it from bottom to the top !!!!

The media

I do admire how the reporters have to get information to write an article in the newspaper or the magazines but I begin to wonder if what they are doing is correct or wrong. Their aim is to keep everyone up-to-date with the happenings around the world but the things that are highlighted in the media most of the time contains too much negativeness.

What news would make it to headlines? Cases on wars, or someone being killed, or someone being raped. How come? I do not get it. These news are written to full where it have a full report on how it happened, where it happened etc but do we really need to know too much information on it? Don’t you think this might give others an idea what to do if they plan to turn bad?

I also do wonder bout how true is the media. I was told that the media do change the news fact at times to show sympathy to certain parties. Why? I remember a fight which lead to a person’s death. It was not reported that they victim was the one who started the fight instead it was reported that the victim was suddenly attacked when he told some people off. Why?

There are so many things that happen till I do not know what can be believe and what not to be believed. So far I heard that there are some people who find it fun to immitate what is reported in the news just for the fun of it. Would it make a difference if the media report less on these cases and more on current news or positive news?

What is this world becoming???

It seems that our country seems to be getting more and more dangerous. How come? I keep reading cases on how unsafe it is to be out during the day and night. There are so many cases like snatch thieves or being hit and rob or being people being murdered. How safe are we now?

I always believe that our country is harmony where everyone lives in harmony but seems that as I grow up, there are so many things that doesn’t support this statement of mine. There are so many violents out there. The warm I used to feel around is suddenly reduced. It seems that the warm we have is being shown to tourist but what about the people among us?

We have neighbours who doesn’t know each other. Neighbours who are self-centered and think that they own the entire housing area. They do not think for their neighbours but themselves and expect the neighbours to be considerate to them only. How is this?

Our policeman are known to be around to help us when we need help. But lately, there are people who dress up like a policeman or claim themselves to be a policeman and do harm to the public. How can this happen? Why? Is our country economy that bad till need to do that to con others and spoil the police force image?

Besides that, what i always hear is accidents happening. Why? If we increase the age to get a license, would it make a difference? It seems that drivers all think that they own the road and just drive the way they want. Some drivers would just come out of a junction without stopping and would horn you if you do not stop for them to go out.

How come this is happening? Why why why??? More and more negatives events is taking place and we are being more negative and also we are like moving more to the bad side. How come??? I feel that our mentality is going backwards. We are too self-centered and aren’t open in ways we are suppose to be. We can be said as opened as the Westerners but they lag of something if not why is there massive gun-shoot outs in their country? If we still do not realize this, I fear that our country would become the same as the Western country. We wouldn’t be known as a multi-culture country anymore.

We have become so full of ourselves with what we achieve that we forgot our roots. What did our ancestors fight for when they fought for independence?

WHY EMPLOYEES LEAVE ORGANISATIONS ? - Azim Premji, CEO- Wipro

Sunday, June 24th, 2007

Every company faces the problem of people leaving the company for better pay or profile.

Early this year, Mark, a senior software designer, got an offer from a prestigious international firm to work in its India operations developing specialized software. He was thrilled by the offer.

He had heard a lot about the CEO. The salary was great. The company had all the right systems in place employee-friendly human resources (HR) policies, a spanking new office, and the very best technology, even a canteen that served superb food.

Twice Mark was sent abroad for training. “My learning curve is the sharpest it’s ever been,” he said soon after he joined.

Last week, less than eight months after he joined, Mark walked out of the job.

Why did this talented employee leave ?

Arun quit for the same reason that drives many good people away.

The answer lies in one of the largest studies undertaken by the Gallup Organization. The study surveyed over a million employees and 80,000 managers and was published in a book called “First Break All The Rules”. It came up with this surprising finding:
If you’re losing good people, look to their immediate boss .Immediate boss is the reason people stay and thrive in an organization. And he ’s the reason why people leave. When people leave they take knowledge, experience and contacts with them, straight to the competition.

“People leave managers not companies,” write the authors Marcus Buckingham and Curt Coffman.

Mostly manager drives people away?

HR experts say that of all the abuses, employees find humiliation the most intolerable. The first time, an employee may not leave, but a thought has been planted. The second time, that thought gets strengthened.
The third time, he looks for another job.

When people cannot retort openly in anger, they do so by passive aggression. By digging their heels in and slowing down. By doing only what they are told to do and no more. By omitting to give the boss crucial information. Dev says: “If you work for a jerk, you basically want to get him into trouble. You don ‘t have your heart and soul in the job.”

Different managers can stress out employees in different ways - by being too controlling, too suspicious, too pushy, too critical, but they forget that workers are not fixed assets, they are free agents. When this goes on too long, an employee will quit - often over a trivial issue.

Talented men leave. Dead wood doesn’t.
